Classic Intervention Residence

Bellevue Hill, Sydney

The design for Classic Intervention Residence is inspired by the idea of intentionality, whereby distractions are eliminated and forms are intentional and mindful. This places a higher degree of importance on meaningful items and shapes within the design. It’s like a form of spring cleaning, where things that don’t add value are removed and replaced with beautiful forms, that allow you to experience the grandness of the space.

A project of reference is the cosmax centre in Hong Kong, praised for it’s sensuous organic curves - a world away from the over embellishment of interiors of the past. Restraint has been carefully exercised in this space, and the forms that have been created anchor the space, giving it meaning.

The walls, cornices and joinery take on some of the curved forms seen in the design, evoking the organic forms seen in nature. Similarly the finishes - such as limestone, lime wash paint and calacatta marble give a soft, beige hue to the interior, making it feel clam, considered and liveable.
